Fear Street Part 1: 1994 (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) accompanies the 2021 Netflix horror film Fear Street Part One: 1994, directed by Leigh Janiak and based on R.L. Stine’s bestselling novels. The original score was composed by Marco Beltrami and Marcus Trumpp, blending atmospheric orchestral tension with thematic elements that support the film’s blend of teen drama and slasher horror set against 1990s Americana.
The soundtrack album was released July 2, 2021 via Milan Records as a digital score release. It contains 17 original score tracks including Mall Massacre, Main Titles, Candlelight Vigil and Sam Attack, running approximately 45 minutes, and is available on major streaming platforms. A later expanded edition was announced as part of the Fear Street Trilogy collection on CD.
In addition to the score, the film’s soundtrack features licensed songs from the 1990s that play during key scenes, capturing the era’s musical landscape even when some tracks were released slightly after the story’s 1994 setting. These include well-known songs like “Closer” by Nine Inch Nails, “Only Happy When It Rains” by Garbage, “Fear of the Dark” by Iron Maiden, “Creep” by Radiohead, “Insane in the Brain” by Cypress Hill, “More Human Than Human” by White Zombie, “Killing Me Softly with His Song” by Roberta Flack and “School’s Out” by Alice Cooper among others that underscore character moments and set pieces throughout the film.
